Vietnamese teenager Nguyen Anh Minh’s outstanding run of form has seen his break into the top-50 in the men’s World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) for the first time.
After winning two professional tournaments, the Lexus Challenge and the National Golf Championship, at the 31st SEA Games, Nguyen Anh Minh was the Vietnamese golfer with the best performance. The 15-year-old golfer almost won a historic medal for Vietnamese golf in the regional arena. However, the 6th position of the male individual that Nguyen Anh Minh achieved is also the best result in the history of the Vietnamese golf team at the SEA Games.
Impressive performance at the 31st SEA Games helped Nguyen Anh Minh rise 951 places to rank 1330 on the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR). This achievement helps Nguyen Anh Minh continue to be the number 1 amateur golfer in Vietnam.
After the 31st SEA Games, Nguyen Anh Minh has a tour in Thailand, the country with the most developed golf industry in Southeast Asia. In Thailand, young Vietnamese talent continues to achieve success when taking the throne at the Asian Amateur Open Championship.
On the back of a succession of accomplished performances in the 2022 season, the 15-year-old has risen to a career-high of 914th. Certainly, the best young golfer of Vietnamese golf will continue to advance in the coming time and reach higher positions at WAGR.
