An illustrious band of twelve internationally renowned chefs will converge on Hanoi during the first week of October for a culinary extravaganza at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi.
Culinary Stars 2018 will bring together a new league of 9 amazing chefs and culinary maestros representing 8 Michelin stars. Together with 4 AccorHotels chefs, they will take diners on a gastronomic journey rarely experienced in Vietnam. The event will run from 1 to 7 October 2018 at Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi.
Gourmands are in for an epicurean jackpot at the first Culinary Stars event which will feature 5 dinners and 5 culinary events. Specially curated culinary activities include the launch of new food products in L’epicerie, a cooking class, a chocolate buffet with a fashion show, a wine and cheese showcase and a special Sunday brunch. “The gathering of 13 of the finest chefs from three continents in one of the most historic venues in Hanoi, in a city with one of the great culinary traditions, should turn into something akin to the perfect storm,” said William Haandrikman, General Manager of Metropole Hanoi.
The 13 chefs highlighting this year’s 7-day culinary spectacle each bring their own unique flair and cultural influence to this weeklong event.
The chefs this year include Jacques Pourcel (3-star Michelin chef at Le Jardin des Sens in France) Thierry Drapeau (2-star Michelin chef at Restaurant Thierry Drapeau in France), Patrick Jeffroy (2-star Michelin chef at Restaurant Patrick Jeffroy in France), Jean Baptise Natali (1-star Michelin chef at La Montagne in France), Alain Caron (Master Chef Judge in Netherlands and owner of Café Caron in Amsterdam), Stéphane Bonnat (of Bonnat Chocolatier, the first chocolatier in the world), Patrice Marchand (co-owners of one of the top quality cheese producers in France), Craig Wilson (member of the Masterchefs of Great Britain, owner of 2 AA rosette restaurant Eat on the Green in Scotland), Didier Corlou (winner of Master Chef of France, and owner of La Verticale, Madame Hien and additional restaurants in Vietnam), Paul Smart (2-time winner of Iron Chef Thailand and Executive Chef at Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi), Aurélien Houguet (Chef De Cuisine of angelina at Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi), Nguyen Thanh Van (first Vietnamese woman to become a member of l’Académie Culinaire de France and Executive Sous Chef at Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi), Angela Brown (Executive Chef of Raffles Siem Reap).
