Five years ago, for the first time, the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort in Da Nang surpassed the brightest international candidates to win the most important category “World’s Leading Luxury Resort” awarded by the World Travel Awards 2014 (WTA).

October 12 is a memorable milestone for not only hotels and resorts of big corporations such as Sun Group, Vingroup, travel businesses like Viettravel, but also for the whole tourism industry in Vietnam. 4 awards were awarded to Vietnam by WTA including: “Asia’s Leading Destination 2019”, “Asia’s Leading Cultural Destination”; “Asia’s Leading Culinary Destination 2019”; Hoi An city was awarded the title of “Asia’s Leading Cultural City Destination 2019”.
9 awards were given to Vinpearl resorts of Vingroup. Vietravel Tourism also received three awards at the same time: “Asia’s Leading Tour Operator 2019”, “Vietnam’s Leading Tour Operator 2019” and “Vietnam’s Leading Travel Agency 2019”.
Meanwhile, a series of Sun Group’s hotels, resorts and airports have been honored by the World Travel Awards in Asia – Oceania taking place in Phu Quoc, and the World Luxury Hotel Awards 2019 in Rovaniemi, Finland on the same day. In total, Sun Group’s projects have received 21 international awards.

In particular, on this occasion, Van Don airport of Sun Group was awarded “Asia’s Leading New Airport 2019”. Two resorts Sun World Ba Na Hills and Sun World Fansipan Legend of the Group also won the “Vietnam’s Leading Theme Park 2019” and “Vietnam’s Leading Tourist Attraction 2019”.
