Nguyen Anh Minh has claimed the third title of the year when he won the Asian Amateur Open Championship 2022.
Entering the final round at Siam Country Club Rolling Hills of Thailand with a total score of -8 strokes after 54 holes, Nguyen Anh Minh still maintained his form to firmly grasp the advantage.
The Vietnamese 15-year-old golfer shot 67 to finish at 13 under, defeating Thai golfer Sahasawat Ariyachatvakin by 7 strokes. It’s his third champion title of the 2022 season, after winning 2 consecutive events of the VGA Tour, the Lexus Challenge and the National Golf Championship – VinFast Cup.
Anh Minh is the first Vietnamese golfer to win the Asian Amateur Open Golf Championship. This victory will help Anh Minh make more strides in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR).
Besides Nguyen Anh Minh‘s achievement, Vietnam golf also had another victory belonging to Nguyen Dang Minh in the U16-18 Men’s group with a total score of +2 after 3 rounds.
The Asian Amateur Open Championship 2022 is a tournament for amateur male and female golfers ranked on the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) by the Thailand Golf Association (TGA) and the Thai Ladies Golf Association (TALGA) jointly organized.
