The Crossover of Fashion & Design

On June 17^th, TOTEMISM and Multiply hosted a one-day design showcase and pop-up shop at Manzi Art Space to explore the intersection between art, material, space, interpretation, and philosophy.

It was a vibrant and interactive exhibition by the two innovative design brands featuring fashion, jewelry, accessories, house-ware, and bespoke furniture. Exclusively for the event, TOTEMISM and Multiply collaborated on a special version of Multiply’s multipurpose urban blanket, which can be used in 263 different ways. Visitors also enjoyed the community assemblage art piece made by Multiply’s tree-inspired coat rack.

TOTEMISM is a non-seasonal fashion label founded by Hungarian designer Rita Trömböczky and her boyfriend Johnny H. Nguyen in 2017. Living a nomadic urban life between Budapest, Hanoi, and Los Angeles, Rita designs clothing, jewelry, and accessories inspired by all of the diverse sights, sounds, textures, and feelings she experiences around the world. The distinctive heritage and landscapes of Hungary, Vietnam, and California, influence the label’s aesthetic and serve as the palette for their collections.

Multiply is a Hanoi-based design firm founded by Swiss architect Nicolas Moser. The label’s mission is to challenge the way people understand and interact with their surroundings.
