Travel might be on pause in these unprecedented times, but data from Booking.com reveals that this hasn’t stopped people across Vietnam from dreaming about its possibilities. Delving into thousands of travel wish lists created by hopeful travelers on its platform over the last two months of lockdown, Booking.com shares the top destinations with the most wishlisted properties as they wait for when the time is right to travel again.

Over the past two months of July and August, the top domestic destinations with the highest number of properties being wish-listed by Vietnamese are Hanoi, Dalat, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Phu Quoc, suggesting the stimulation of urban city getaways after weeks of confinement, alongside the spirit to explore nature, culture and heritage sites and indulge in local cuisine. (Top cities are based on the number of properties most wishlisted by Vietnamese travelers per city and not by travelers wishlisting specific destinations)

Hotels account for more than half (65%) of all properties wishlisted by Vietnamese travelers over the months of July and August 2021.
