The number 1 amateur golfer in Vietnam continues to make great strides, cracking the Top 500 in the latest ranking of WAGR.
Recently, Nguyen Anh Minh continued to affirm Vietnam’s No. 1 Amateur position when winning the runner-up at the 2022 Vietnam Open Amateur Golf Championship (VAO) taking place at Vinpearl Golf Hai Phong. Although he could not overcome Thai golfer Tunyapat Sukkoed to win the domestic tournament, Nguyen Anh Minh still showed an impressive performance when constantly chasing his opponent to create a dramatic race.
After the 2022 Vietnam Open Amateur Golf Championship, Nguyen Anh Minh continued to make a breakthrough on the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR). The defending champion of the National Championship jumped 451 ranks from T-914 to T-463 and became the first Vietnamese male golfer to enter the Top 500 on WAGR.
Within two months, Nguyen Anh Minh has continuously made impressive progress on the WAGR. Previously, with the achievement of Top 6 male individuals at SEA Games 31, Anh Minh rose to 951 places to rank Top 1330 on WAGR.
After the 31st SEA Games, Nguyen Anh Minh has a tour in Thailand, the country with the most developed golf industry in Southeast Asia. Here, the young talent of Vietnamese golf continued to achieve success when taking the throne at the Asian Amateur Open Championship.
Impressive achievements have helped Nguyen Anh Minh to be named in the Top 1000 best amateur golfers in the world with 914th position. Currently, Anh Minh is ranked 463rd.
