Moving up nearly 300 places, Nguyen Anh Minh, the best young talent of Vietnamese golf, has officially joined the top 200 on the latest ranking of WAGR.
Only one week after cracking the Top 500 on WAGR to reach Top 493, Nguyen Anh Minh continues to make proud leaps after his impressive performance at the 2022 Vietnam Junior Open (VJO) – Cup T99.
At the tournament that just ended at the end of July on Vinpearl Golf Hai Phong, Nguyen Anh Minh claimed a convincing victory with a total of -15 strokes (68 – 66 – 67). This is the lowest score record in the history of the Vietnam Junior Open. The previous record belonged to Thai golfer Arpichaya Yubol with -11 strokes at VJO 2016.
Impressive achievements at VJO 2022 – T99 Cup helped Anh Minh make a great advancement in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR). The 15-year-old golfer jumped 271 places to reach Top 192, officially entering the top 200 best amateur golfers in the world.
Besides Nguyen Anh Minh, other golfers in Vietnam also made significant progress. Nguyen Dang Minh jumped 456 places to top 2606. While Le Khanh Hung, Nguyen Nhat Long and Do Quang Khanh are respectively ranked at 3197, 3459 and 4312.
In the Women’s Ranking, Doan Xuan Khue Minh made a great progress when climbing 533 places to 585 to officially surpass Hanako Kawasaki, becoming the highest ranked Vietnamese female golfer on WAGR.
With the runner-up title at VJO 2022 – T99 Cup, Le Chuc An was also named on the WAGR for the first time with the position of 2768. The golfer born in 2008 has shown great progress through two tournaments, the 2022 Vietnam Ladies Amateur Open (VLAO) and the 2022 Vietnam Junior Open (VJO).
