With summer around the corner, it’s time to pack your bags, hit the roads or the sky and recharge after months of hard work and studying. As per Booking.com’s Travel Predictions 2023, 74% of Vietnamese travelers report that traveling will always be worth it and nearly three quarters (78%) feel that the best time to travel is summer. Despite feeling anxious about travel in the face of a looming global recession, travelers have not given up on their travel plans instead they are being more mindful over how to make the most of their travel budget by taking advantage of deals, hacks and smartly-timed travel (74%) and prioritizing value for money with discounts and loyalty programs (64%).
If you are looking for some inspiration on where to travel this holiday season, Booking.com has released its latest search data trends that sheds light on Vietnamese travelers’ preferred destinations for this summer.
Beaches continue to be the most preferred summer destination for Vietnamese travelers
Data from Booking.com reveals that beaches continue to be the top destination choice for Vietnamese travelers this summer. Danang retains its top spot as the most searched domestic destination among Vietnamese travelers for summer 2023, followed by Nha Trang and Phu Quoc. With 3260 kms of remarkable coastlines and almost 5000 years of history, beaches continue to hold an irresistible appeal for Vietnamese travelers. Besides beaches, Vietnamese are also searching for urban cities such as Ho Chi Minh City and charming countryside destinations including Dalat and Hoi An which make it to the list of top 10 most searched destinations this season.

Bangkok – the most popular outbound destination for Vietnamese travelers this summer
As the travel & tourism industry continues on its recovery path, outbound trips from Vietnam are increasing, with people eager to resume and reboot their travel plans. With shorter flight duration and easy visa policy six of the top ten most searched international destinations are located in Asia Pacific with shorter flight times and convenient visa policies. Bangkok is the most popular outbound destination for Vietnamese travelers followed by Singapore and Paris. Since reopening its borders Tokyo and Seoul are also seeing great interest among Vietnamese travelers and among the top 5 most searched destinations this season.
