InterContinental Hanoi Landmark72 launches Chinese Culinary Week from 18th to 26th November 2023. We will welcome the arrival of guest chef Ooi Kar Kim – Chinese Head Chef from Yu Chu Restaurant at InterContinental Saigon. Born in Penang, Malaysia, into a family with a rich Chinese heritage and surrounded by the colourful cuisine culture of the country, Chef Kim started working in cooking-related jobs as early as 15 years old. Since starting his professional career and for more than two decades, Chef Kim has always been on the journey to expand his cooking knowledge and skills. This culinary voyage sent Chef Kim to many countries and regions across Asia, from Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore to Vietnam.
Chef Kim will bring the vibrant flavours of traditional Chinese cuisine to 3 Spoons through a variety of unique offerings. He will be showcasing his culinary expertise through his signature Chinese dishes served during lunch and dinner buffet, some of the highlights include Steamed Pork Spare Ribs with Spicy Black Beans Sauce, BBQ Charsiu, Sauteed Fresh Scallops with Shrimps and Asparagus in Black Truffle Sauce, Fried Grouper Fillets in Hong Kong style, Szechuan Style Wok-fried Australian Beef Short Ribs.
In the Chinese Cooking Masterclass, Chef Ooi Kar Kim will introduce the diversity of Chinese recipes and guide you through his signature dishes “Lobster With Salted Egg Yolk” and “Almond Shrimp and Scallop Ball”. Don your aprons and get ready to recreate authentic Chinese food from scratch. At the end of this class, guests will be able to enjoy a lunch set menu at 3 Spoons.
